Drip irrigation subsidy in Kerala

Give water where your crop needs it. FarmersHub helps you plan, apply for and install a drip or sprinkler irrigation solution, with automation where suitable. Learn how the Per Drop More Crop scheme works and what your farm needs to get started.

Why choose drip?

A better way to water crops

Water at the root zone

Emitters deliver controlled amounts close to the plant, reducing avoidable wetting between rows.

More control

Set irrigation zones and timing around the crop, soil, season and available water.

Easier farm operation

A planned layout can reduce manual watering and accommodate filtration, fertigation and automation where suitable.

FarmersHub support

One team for the complete irrigation and subsidy journey

We can take care of your project from initial farm review through design, material selection, BOQ and cost estimate, support with the subsidy application paperwork, approved installation and inspection coordination. You have one local team to guide the next step.

Design and estimate

We assess crop spacing, water source, pump, pressure, terrain and zones, then prepare a practical drip or sprinkler layout and itemized BOQ.

Application support

We help organize the design, quotation and technical information requested by the implementing office, and guide you through the applicable submission and inspection steps.

Supply, automation and installation

We select suitable components from industry leading brands such as Jain Irrigation, with L&T controls and other automation options where appropriate, then install and commission the agreed system.

Subsidy approval is issued by the government authority. We support the process end to end, but eligibility, approved costs, available funds and payment are decided under current scheme rules. Automation items are included in a subsidy claim only when the implementing office confirms they are eligible.
Scheme overview

What subsidy may be available?

The Government of India’s Per Drop More Crop (PDMC) scheme supports micro irrigation, including drip and sprinkler systems. The national financial assistance rates described by the government are:

55%Small and marginal farmers

National PDMC assistance rate on the applicable eligible cost.

45%Other farmers

National PDMC assistance rate on the applicable eligible cost.

Kerala implementation

State support, approved unit costs, crop coverage and application windows may change. Confirm the current terms with the local Krishi Bhavan or implementing office.

Plan before you purchase. These percentages are scheme rates, not a promise of that discount on any retail quotation. Approval, category, land and crop details, eligible components, ceiling, funds and inspection determine actual assistance. Ask the implementing office to confirm the procedure before installation.
First check

Is your farm a possible fit?

Drip systems are commonly planned for orchards, vegetables, banana and other suitable crops. A useful first review covers:

  • Land location, area, ownership or cultivation arrangement
  • Crop, spacing and number of plants or rows
  • Water source, available flow, pump and power
  • Terrain, existing pipes and proposed irrigation zones
  • Prior subsidy received for the same area, if any

Final eligibility belongs to the relevant government authority.

Documents to keep ready

  • Identity and bank details requested by the scheme
  • Land records or permitted cultivation documents
  • Farm location, area and crop details
  • Any additional forms, approvals or quotations requested locally

Requirements can vary. Check the current list with your Krishi Bhavan before submitting.

Common questions

Kerala drip irrigation subsidy FAQs

How much is the drip irrigation subsidy in Kerala?

PDMC describes national assistance rates of 55% for small and marginal farmers and 45% for other farmers on applicable eligible costs. Kerala’s current support, caps and approval rules should be confirmed with the implementing office for your farm.

Is the subsidy based on the full amount I pay?

Not necessarily. Assistance is assessed against approved unit costs and eligible components under current rules, so a shop quotation and subsidy calculation can differ.

Can I install first and apply later?

Do not assume a completed installation will qualify. Ask the implementing office about the required application, approval, inspection and installation order before buying materials.

Can FarmersHub help with a BOQ?

Yes. Share a plot sketch or measurements, crop spacing, water source and pump details. We can prepare a proposed irrigation layout and material estimate for your review. Government approval is issued by the relevant authority.
